Next Month in Books – December 2020

3F45CE05-952F-409D-B87D-6BB95DB18FE9

It’s almost Christmas and what better way to treat yourself during this festive season than by buying some new books. If you’re celebrating the holidays, I wish you all peace and joy in these still-difficult times.

I’ve always been an avid reader but this last month books have become even more important to me as a combination of a month-long lockdown here in the UK and family issues means that I’ve been stuck at home by myself for long periods of time so I’ve been reading even more than usual. Thanks to books, I could stave off loneliness and be transported from my quiet apartment in Greater Manchester to places as varied as rural Alaska, coastal Martha’s Vineyard, hygge Copenhagen, glamorous Paris and cultural Tokyo.

I’ve still barely made a dent in my TBR pile but I’m always looking for new authors to discover so which books are you most looking forward to being published in December 2020?

As usual, if you’ve got any suggestions for December 2020 releases I might have missed out on, please let me know in the comments.

Until next time, happy reading!

Note: I don’t get paid for including any of the links below, they’re just the books I’m most looking forward to being published each month 🙂

1ST DECEMBER 2020

The 1st book in December 2020 is actually the sequel to one of my five-star reads from November 2020 (Wild at Heart) and I couldn’t be more excited to see what’s going to happen next with Calla, Jonah and the residents of Trapper’s Crossing.

Forever Wild (The Simple Wild, #2.5)Forever Wild (The Simple Wild #2.5) by K.A. Tucker

Series: The Simple Wild (#1) and Wild at Heart (#2)

From the international bestselling author of The Simple Wild comes Forever Wild, a novella that continues the story of Calla’s journey to the Alaskan wild and a life she never imagined for herself.

The holiday season is upon Calla and Jonah, and with the mistletoe and gingerbread comes plenty of family drama. Jonah is bracing himself for two weeks with a stepfather he loathes, and while Calla is looking forward to her mother and Simon’s arrival, she dreads the continued pressure to set a date for their wedding … in Toronto. Add in one bullheaded neighbor’s unintentional meddling and another cantankerous neighbor’s own family strife, and Christmas in Trapper’s Crossing will be anything but simple.

Loverboy (The Company, #2)Loverboy (The Company #2) by Sarina Bowen

Series: Moonlighter (#1)

Growing up, I was the rough guy from the wrong neighborhood who couldn’t catch a break. Posy was the pampered girl I tried to impress. But all she gave me was a single kiss before I had to skip town.

Now I’m back, and the tables are turned. Posy runs a struggling pie shop. I’m the VP of a secretive billion-dollar security company.

Not that I can tell her.

There’s a murderer on the loose in New York, and he seems to spend a lot of time at Posy’s shop. It’s my job to identify him before he can harm a hair on her pretty head.

Going undercover as Posy’s new barista wasn’t my idea. I don’t even drink coffee. But now I have to call her “boss,” and do everything the curvy perfectionist asks of me. I’d forgotten how much we infuriate each other, and that she somehow fills me with both irritation and desire in the same breath.

There’s nobody more skilled at stealth ops than me. I can bring this killer down. Right after I take a cold shower. And just as soon I figure out how to make a skinny peppermint latte with milk poured in the shape of a kitten…

15TH DECEMBER 2020

New Year's SteveNew Year’s Steve by Sara Ney & M.E. Carter

In the game of Online Dating, names can be deceiving…

CEO Harrison Steven McGinnis is incognito. Better to use a fake name while online dating when money, connections, and his famous company are on the line.

To save himself from the gold diggers of the world, he hides his face and changes his name to Steve, and still manages to make an amazing connection with a woman named Felicity.

NEW YEAR. NEW BOYFRIEND??
Accountant Felicity Thompson is working late. Committed to meeting her year-end goal, she isn’t leaving her desk until the job is done. Her reward? A date with Steve.

If only the light above her desk would stop flashing, and the run-in with the mega-hot maintenance man would stop making her squirm in her desk chair.

Suddenly, work is taking longer to finish and her date with Steve? Doesn’t feel so exciting. Not when she can’t get her mind off of Harry.

Can her New Years Eve be saved?
Who will be waiting for her when the ball drops at midnight?

Series: Wallbanger (#1), Rusty Nailed (#2), Screwdrivered (#3), Mai Tai’d Up (#4) & Last Call (#4.5)

Simon and Caroline have it all. A gorgeous restored Victorian house in Sausalito, flourishing careers, an eternal spark for each other, and a cat with more attitude than is legal in the state of California.

After several close calls, Simon and Caroline are coming to terms with the idea that being parents might not be in the cards for them. They’ve been married several years, and they’re realizing it may just be the two of them, forever. Which is okay, right?

Caroline’s career has taken an intriguing turn, Simon is working more than ever, they’re fresh from a trip across the pond to see their besties Jillian and Benjamin – things are falling into place, without a baby rattle.

But just when you think your life is set, the universe gives you a…twist.
