A-Z: My Favourite Authors & Books – D

F

It’s Week 4 and we’re up to Letter D in my A-Z Favourite Authors & Books.

It’s a short blog post this week because I’ve only got 1 x Favourite Author with a surname beginning with D, which is Laura Dave.

Writing today’s blog post has still put a huge smile on my face because Laura’s book, ‘The First Husband’ reminds me of one of my all-time favourite places in the world: Seattle. I heart it so much that I even moved Cate & Kian there in ‘Paradise Syndrome.’

If you want to check out Literary Travels: Seattle, you can find links to all the posts in the Archives.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a Certified Book Nerd and I remember reading ‘The First Husband’ while I was on holiday in Seattle.

That holiday was also memorable for the epic panic attack I had on our very last day when my Kindle suddenly decided to lose all my books just hours before our 9.5 hour flight back to London. Thankfully it just needed rebooting because nobody wants to be around me when I haven’t got any books to read.

P.S. If you’ve missed any of my previous A-Z: Favourite Authors & Books, you’ll find links to them all in the Archives.

Side Note: Fictional chefs are my kryptonite.

Annie Adams is days away from her thirty-second birthday and thinks she has finally found some happiness. She visits the world’s most interesting places for her syndicated travel column and she’s happily cohabiting with her movie director boyfriend Nick in Los Angeles.

But when Nick comes home from a meeting with his therapist (aka “futures counsellor”) and announces that he’s taking a break from their relationship so he can pursue a woman from his past, the place Annie had come to call home is shattered.

Reeling, Annie stumbles into her neighbourhood bar and finds Griffin-a grounded, charming chef who seems to be everything Annie didn’t know she was looking for.

Within three months, Griffin is Annie’s husband and Annie finds herself trying to restart her life in rural Massachusetts.
