Author Spotlight: Sarah Morgan

Sarah Morgan (4)

For my 200th blog post I want to shine a spotlight on one of my all-time favourite authors: Sarah Morgan.

Sarah’s novels are all amazing and I’ve scoured second-hand shops and online just so I can have actual physical copies of them.

I first discovered them when I was on holiday in Orlando, Florida in 2014 and picked up a mass market paperback of Maybe This Christmas (Snow Crystal #3) from the rack at Walgreen’s.

From Sarah’s early Mills & Boon (Harlequin) romances right through to her more recent contemporary women’s fiction novels, what I love most about them are the fact that they all speak directly to your heart. Regardless of the situations they find themselves in, the heroines in her books never just meekly wait around for a big, strong man to swoop in and rescue them. They’re all bright, hard-working and with impossibly big hearts. The path of true love never runs smoothly so there will always be complications, deep-rooted issues to be dealt with or communication mishaps but the heroes are never knowingly cruel, they’re respectful and only want the best for their partners. This author’s novels are perfect to curl up with when it’s wet and windy outside (as it so often is here in Manchester) because they’re so joyful and full of love.

Author Profile:

USA Today and Sunday Times bestselling author Sarah Morgan writes romance and contemporary women’s fiction and her trademark humour and warmth have gained her fans across the globe. Sarah lives near London, England, and when she isn’t reading or writing she loves being outdoors.

P.S.  Sarah is also one of the loveliest authors I know at connecting with her fans.

My Five Favourite Novels:

It was really difficult to narrow it down to just five but here are my favourites (in alphabetical order):

Side Note: Who knew I was such a fan of gorgeous but sadly fictional Mediterranean males?

(Harlequin Medical) The Italian’s New Year Marriage Wish

If I’ve got a guilty pleasure, it would definitely be Mills & Boon (Harlequin) romances. ‘The Italian’s New Year Marriage Wish’ had everything: a quaint seaside village in Cornwall, a handsome Italian doctor, a second-chance love story (one of my all-time favourite tropes) and plenty of feels.

As the snow falls gently on the Cornish streets, Amy Avanti summons up her courage and opens the door to Penhally Bay Surgery, knowing it will take her back to another life, where she was adoringly in love with her husband – and now she’s back to finally set him free.

But sexy Italian Dr Marco Avanti simply wants her back by his side, saving lives day by day, making love by night. Marco’s never stopped loving Amy, and he’s going to find out what is causing the shadows under his darling wife’s eyes. With the New Year approaching they are going to make a new beginning – and make their marriage magical again!

(Contemporary Women’s Fiction) One Summer in Paris

‘One Summer in Paris’ is different from my other 4 x favourites because it’s one of Sarah’s more recent contemporary women’s fiction novels but don’t worry, it still has all of the same warmth and joy. I adored Grace and Audrey’s friendship and you can never go wrong with Paris.

To celebrate their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary, Grace has planned the surprise of a lifetime for her husband—a romantic getaway to Paris. But she never expected he’d have a surprise of his own: he wants a divorce. Reeling from the shock but refusing to be broken, a devastated Grace makes the bold decision to go to Paris alone.

Audrey, a young woman from London, has left behind a heartache of her own when she arrives in Paris. A job in a bookshop is her ticket to freedom, but with no money and no knowledge of the French language, suddenly a summer spent wandering the cobbled streets alone seems much more likely…until she meets Grace, and everything changes.

Grace can’t believe how daring Audrey is. Audrey can’t believe how cautious newly single Grace is. Living in neighboring apartments above the bookshop, this unlikely pair offer each other just what they’ve both been missing. They came to Paris to find themselves, but finding this unbreakable friendship might be the best thing that’s ever happened to them…

(Cosmo Red Hot Reads) Ripped (Miller Sisters #1)

Series: Burned (#2)

‘Ripped’ had to be one of My Five Favourite Novels because IMO it’s the funniest of Sarah’s novels. Poor Hayley. Nico’s such a sweetheart though and I definitely recommend reading ‘Burned’ which features Hayley’s sister. Rosie.

Side Note: Whatever happened to Cosmo’s Red Hot Reads? I discovered lots of really great authors because of them.

“Wardrobe malfunction” doesn’t begin to cover it.

With a rip louder than the “I dos,” Hayley’s hideous bile-yellow bridesmaid dress explodes. She’s always had enviable curves, but nearly naked wasn’t quite the look she’d been going for at her ex’s wedding.

She’s rushed from the altar under the best man’s designer tux jacket. Hayley’s expecting a blast of icy disapproval from sexy, sophisticated Niccolò Rossi—his usual reaction to anything she does. What she gets is a kiss that nearly melts what’s left of her polyester nightmare gown.

It’s impossible on a million levels. Exuberant engineer Hayley and buttoned-up lawyer Nico have never seen eye to eye—but skin to skin? Oh, mio…. So when Nico shows up at her flat on Christmas Day to give her a fabulous gift—himself—Hayley’s delighted to do the unwrapping. But it’s just a holiday fling. By New Year’s Day, she’ll come back to her senses…unless Nico’s sensual skills tear away all her resolve.

(Harlequin Medical) Summer With Love

‘Summer With Love’ includes 3 x novels about siblings: Katy, Libby & Alex Westerling which were originally published separately as The Spanish Consultant, The Greek Children’s Doctor and The English Doctor’s Baby. My favourite is ‘The Spanish Consultant.’

Spanish A&E consultant Jago Rodriguez is shocked to see Katy Westerling again; the beautiful woman who still haunts his dreams eleven years after their passionate affair.

Jago is convinced she hasn’t changed, so he’s furious when he discovers that Katy is also his new A&E doctor!

But even their mutual mistrust cannot hold back desire, and as they begin to uncover the secrets and lies of the past it seems that Jago and Katy have been given a second chance…

Wish Upon A Star by [Sarah Morgan](Harlequin Medical) Wish Upon A Star

‘Wish Upon A Star’ includes 2 x novels from the Lakeside Mountain Rescue Series: The Christmas Marriage Rescue & The Midwife’s Christmas Miracle. My favourite is ‘The Christmas Marriage Rescue.’

When her marriage to gorgeous Spanish A and E consultant Alessandro Garcia hit the rocks, Christy decided to leave, praying he would come after her, to prove that he saw her as more than a wife and mother. Only he didn’t. And she still doesn’t know what to do next.

Their children do, however—and that’s to spend Christmas in the Lake District with their father. Christy reluctantly returns with them, and is roped into working in Alessandro’s understaffed A and E department and for the mountain rescue team. This could be the opportunity they need to mend their marriage.

Coming Soon:

If that’s not enough, Sarah also has a new contemporary women’s fiction novel out next month on 25 May 2023 titled Summer Wedding (UK) or The Island Villa (US).

Celebrated romance author Catherine Swift has topped the bestseller lists for decades, though her personal story hasn’t been quite so successful. Three failed marriages have left her relationship with her daughters strained, but that’s about to be rectified. Engaged yet again, Catherine is counting on this wedding to be what finally brings them together as a family, and she’ll do whatever it takes to make that happen.

Adeline doesn’t know what’s worse—that her mother is getting married a fourth time, or that she’s being guilted into witnessing the train wreck at Catherine’s luxury villa in Corfu. It brings back the pain of her parents’ split, of her mother’s infidelity and the baby that was the result. Not that she blames her half-sister, Cassie, but then she’s never made an effort to know her, either.

Cassie, on the other hand, is thrilled by her mother’s news and admires Catherine’s resilience. She’s equally excited about meeting the mystery groom, and at the prospect of spending her summer in Corfu, where she can process a secret of her own she’s been keeping from everyone.

As Cassie and Adeline arrive on the island, they each have very different expectations of what this week will bring—they haven’t been entirely honest with their mother about their lives, either—but in the lead-up to the wedding, all will be revealed, for better or worse.

If like me, you’re a sucker for Christmas novels, you can also pre-order The Christmas Book Club, which is due to be released on 26 October 2023.

A long-lasting friendship

Every year, Erica, Claudia, and Anna reunite for their book club holiday. They’re bonded by years of friendship and a deep love of books, but there is still so much they keep from each other . . .
